INdIA Winterim — A Global PerspectiveIndia Winterim: A global perspective.

Greetings from India! Section II

Since 1997, IIHR—Hydroscience & Engineering (IIHR), a unit of the College of Engineering at the University of Iowa (UI), has offered a short-term study-abroad course, International Perspectives in Water Resources Science and Management. Each year, the course focuses on a country or a world region for an intensive and in-depth exposure to technical, management, historical, cultural, social, economic, ethical, environmental, and political conditions that impact water resource objectives, with the goal of better preparing students for careers that are becoming increasingly global in nature. This year’s course was organized by IIHR in cooperation with Department of Geography and UI International Programs, under the title Development of Resilient and Sustainable Agricultural Watersheds. Our host in India was the Institute of Rural Research and Development and IIT Roorkee (in India).
